Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 4-1/4-Quart Covered Casserole

The Best Clad Cookware
After doing rigorous comparison shopping, including looking at commercial clad cookware like Vollrath Tribute, I consider the new Le Creuset cookware to be the best available, hands down. The lids are thicker, the pot bodies are heavier, and the handles are more comfortable. These pots and pans put brands like All Clad to shame.

Yes, they are made in China. Only All Clad, which now makes their handles and lids off-shore too (they don't tell you where) and Vollrath are made in the US. All Clad is no better than Cuisinart (which would be my second choice, and a lot cheaper) or Calphalon, now discontinued, in the clad cookware category. And All Clad is ridiculously expensive, which in my opinion is completely unjustifiable, not to mention that their handles are as uncomfortable as they come.

If I didn't care about looks I would have gone with Vollrath, but the Le Creuset are very attractive (for pots and pans). The new handles are thick and easy to grasp. The...

King Kooker CIFFB 6-Quart Cast-Iron Dutch Oven with Aluminum Lid and Basket

Doesn't measure up to industry standard
I don't normally write reviews but I felt I must save anyone who is contemplating the fine art of Dutch oven cooking from this product. I have a number of Lodge ovens and the beauty of acquiring different sizes over the years is that the pots and lids are compatible and stackable. This product comes with a flimsy bent aluminum lid (really cheap, not like the solid cast aluminum lids of well made pots), and an equally flimsy basket. Oh well, I thought, I'll just toss the cheap lid and use my #12 Lodge lid. Too bad, the pot is not able to accept the wonderful Lodge flanged top.
Since good cast iron pots last forever, don't skimp! You will lose the opportunity to fall in love with this classic cooking hobby.

good product, bad shipping
We really enjoy the product. However, when we got them in the mail, we bought two, both of them came with the lid bent in several places. Not sure whose fault it is but that was a downer on the product.

Beautifully made
Of course, le creuset has excellent quality: this adorable little ramekin is perfect for service a warm dessert or side dish. Or 1 serving of soup.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
What a joke. These Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Casseroles have no purpose. They are 100% smaller than I thought. They are usuless and waaaayyyy overpriced. They aren't worth 5 bucks a piece let alone the $14.99 a piece I paid and I bought 8 of them. save your money! don't buy these!

MATBAH Stainless Steel Hot Pot Insulated Food Server Casserole - Keeps Warm Upto 4 Hours, 2-Liter/2-Quart

Water spot easily and look bad
The product works well ~ though keeps things cold or hot only for about 2 hours not 4 as I'd read ~ but even when I wash it in the dishwasher and use my "non-spotting" stuff they spot really badly and I have to work hard to "buff" out the water spots before using them. I never seem to get them all, either. Not good when you're trying to make a good impression (we give photo workshops and serve lunches and things need to look professional).

Great Soup Pot
We had a 6qt & a 16qt pot. One to big, and one too small, so We really needed a 12qt.

I surfed around and found this wonderful stainless steel...good heavy pot, with thick capsulated bottom, which I need for my glass top stove. Also has great handles, that don't get hot, and I like the glass lid.

It has quickly become our favorite soup pot. We are always making soup.

Johnson-Rose 8 Quart Stainless Steel Brazier with Lid

Simply AMAZING!
I was in the market for a larger pot from the one that I already had at home from a set that I bought back in December off of Amazon and from all my options I decided on this one and I am a extremely happy with my choice!

I really didn't want to break the bank and get something in the hundreds but I also didn't want to get something that was just cheaply made and would last a few months and fall apart in my hands during one of the wash cycles.

This pot has saved me countless times and I even though I'm no expert just a normal woman in the kitchen that really loves to cook I think this pot is very well made it and it can fit almost anything you decide you want to cook in it.

The pot is very nice and heavy, the handles are extremely sturdy, the lid seals nice and tight, the finishing is great and very durable even in the dishwasher (for those very lazy days).

Also the handles don't seem to overheat to the extent you would only be able to...

Mauviel Copper Fish Poacher, 19-5/8 by 5-1/8-Inches

Poach this pan
I was asked to review a poaching pan for a senior officer of the AmaZoo. I have used only five, one of which was diamond shaped for turbot and the like, so I write from limited experience. I can begin with size. If you want to do whole fish poaching, use this double burner design, especially in the smaller sizes. In the large sizes, the prices of copper and non copper strangely converge. Unfortunately, for home use copper is several times the price of other metals. But it is precisely the smaller sizes that beg for copper. When your fish is thicker in the middle than at either end, yet still too long for your stove's burner, how do you get a low even temperature with a gentle flow of poaching broth? You use two burners. The copper does wonders to keep smaller volumes of stock at low even temperatures better than any other metal, especially up the sides.

The idea is not so much too cook your fish as to warm it into a receptive state for your highly flavored stock,...

The only thing I would say that is not so good is, that one out of 8 pieces may have some very minor damage to the bottom which may be a non issue. You can barely tell and the rest of them are french poetry in pot form. I can not wait to cook with them and see how they work.

Mexican Origins Healthy Cast-Iron Griddle

Old School
Back in the old days, we seasoned our cast iron by cooking bacon. Get bacon scraps. Bacon scraps are nice to cook and save for bacon bits (salads, soups, et cetera). Real strips of bacon will do if you can't get scraps. Use a gas stove with a flame, or wood fire in barbeque. Place pan upside down on burner, turn on to highest setting, then heat pan until red hot. Now turn pan rightside up, add bacon, and cook until bacon is done. Remove bacon, pour off excess fat into a container, and use paper towel to coat both sides of pan liberally with bacon fat. Place pan back on burner upside down. Allow pan to heat until smoky. Turn pan over rightside up, turn off stove, coat inside lightly with baoon fat, allow to cool. Pan should now be "seasoned" and ready for future use. Cast iron gets better with age. The more you use it, the better it gets.

Nice quality.
Great grill pan. I reseasoned it upon arrival and I really like it. Great for fajitas and pork chops.

KitchenAid Gourmet Reserved 10-Piece Porcelain Cookware Set, Black

Great! Fast heating and dishwaher safe!
I have been using this cookware for a few weeks and I am very happy with them. We have a glass top stove and they are very flat on the bottom making for excellent heat conduction. Water boils twice as fast as the old pans we were using.

They go in the dishwasher and come out clean and shiny. We'll see how they look over time, but so far, they still look like new. The glass tops have a metal edge around to protect them. I love being able to see my food without removing the top.

The only complaint I have is that the insides stain a little bit when making tea, but it's no big deal.

Completely satisfied with this Kitchen Aid cookware
I shopped numerous stores, read numerous online reviews, and consulted the top consumer magazine before buying this cookware. Many other sets had pans we don't need, and lacked pan sizes that my family use frequently. This combination of pan types and sizes fit our needs perfectly. For a while, I couldn't decide whether to by non-stick pans or uncoated. But my family is not careful with pans, so even the best quality non-stick surface won't last long. So I'm glad I bought stainless steel. Separately, I purchased a non-stick sautee pan, which is handy for times when non-stick is most helpful. The extra-thick, flat base on these pans conduct heat great on our ceramic stovetop, and don't warp like thinner pans. I did let a pan boil dry one time, and the base discolored very slightly as a result of my neglect. But it is hardly noticable when you compare the bottom with the other pans. The glass lids are nice, since you can see the contents when cooking (except when moisture...

Very good cookware
Not the easiest to clean but this very functional and handsome cookware set is the best stuff I have had for many a year. I am glad I got it and all I need is more vinegar to keep it spotless.

Great deal for great price
Over the years, we've discovered that no matter how much you spend on a non-stick pan, they all degrade. So, our new approach is to buy cheap and replace often.

We are careful to not use metal (unless we need to) and we can't be bothered to hand wash. Whatever doesn't make it through the dishwasher we throw away! :)

Bought this one because it was very low price and it works great! Will definitely consider re-purchase when it starts to degrade (unless we find something lower price!).

This heavy weight grill wok is a plesure to use. Its non-stick surface makes it a breeze to clean after cooking. I use it to cook a medley of vegetables on my gas fired grill. Mauviel M'cook 5611.24 3.3-Quart Saute Pan with Cast Iron Handle

Excellent performance/proportions
I purchased this pan along with a lid from a different website than Amazon, and have had it for about three months. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

This pan has a great heft to it, which means that you can stir or manipulate the food inside one-handed without the whole thing sliding around.

The interior stainless, while a little bit stickier (because its slightly less finished) than other clad cookware, performs great and cleans up wonderfully. I always hand wash my cookware, and this item looks brand new on the outside. The inside shows use from metal utensils, but that's part of the life of a stainless pan.

The cast iron handle will (slowly) heat up as the pan is left on a burner, but I actually find it to be a good indicator of the pan's heat. Also, I find the handle super comfortable and easy to maneuver when pouring. The only disadvantage is that it's important to dry the area around the handle well to completely avoid rust. You can also season it...

Norpro 973 Nonstick Egg Poacher

Does the job for egg poaching
This is a good, cheap way to get your eggs poached. It's hard to get good poached eggs in the States, as most eateries make them runny (yuck). So, picked this up and it works well. Be warned, that XL and Large eggs are not the best fit, though they still worked. Use small eggs instead, but I started with XL eggs and everything came out fine, just have to finagle it a bit.

I simply get a double boiler going and place this inside. Perfect fit. I then add the eggs along with the chives, herbs, garlic and spices (sometimes I include goat milk and whip first before adding). I then put the pot lid on and let it rock for a minute. Then, if it's starting to solidify, I add a touch of Tabasco, to give it that extra wallop. The lid goes back on and I let it cook for about five minutes. My poached eggs are similar to cakes, so once they look firm, I scoop them out with a fork. Some folks like the yolk to be runny, but I like Poached Cakes. Since the cups work perfectly to cook all the...

Not suitable for large eggs
Product is non-stick as long as you use butter or some oil. Small enough to fit into a large pot, no wide saute pan needed. However, the cups are quite shallow. A single large egg completely overflows the cup by several tablespoons of egg white. The overflow runs off into the water creating needless waste and an extra mess.

Egg Cups Are Too Small for Large Eggs
This egg poacher insert didn't work out for me. The egg cups are too small for "large" eggs: the egg contents overflow into the cooking water. Also, when I followed the package instructions (fill pan with water almost to top of insert, break eggs into cups, simmer 3-5 minutes), the egg centers didn't cook, even after 7-8 minutes. The nonstick surface worked well, allowing me to slip the eggs into the water to finish cooking.

Apparently I should have brought the water to a simmer before adding the insert and eggs. However, because of the inadequate size of the egg cups, my insert went into the garbage after only one use. Poaching eggs in water has always worked for me--I bought this insert because I wanted to avoid wasting the portion of the egg that swirls away when you slip it into simmering water.

MIU France Stainless Steel Pasta Cooker and Steamer with Glass Lid, 10-Quarts

Good heat distribution
I bought this pot specifically for making chicken stock, and it did the job perfectly. The contents heated up quickly and evenly on my glass top stove. I was able to bring a full pot to a boil within a few minutes. With my old 4 quart RevereWare pot, it would take 15-20 minutes to bring water to a boil. This MIU pot obviously has good heat retention and distribution. The bottom is thick and heavy and the entire pot has a good solid feel to it. The lid fits properly, and there were no problems with sputtering or dripping from the lid. The glass is a nice bonus. You can check on your food without having to the lift the lid and lose heat. I have not used the steamer basket or pasta insert. Both fit well, though. The pasta cooker, when inserted, sits about 1 inch from the bottom of the pot, but I cannot comment on its performance. The steamer basket has a handle for lifting that's hard to see in the photo. It's unlikely that I'll use the pasta cooker or steamer basket any time soon, but...

HUNK A HUNK A NON BURNING METAL
Recently re-did and updated the kitchen and decided to update and organize the cookware. The two stock pots I had bought at a department store while servicable were really not much more than big tin cans with lids.

Saw this unit advertised as the weekly special at a higher end cutlery supply outfit and liked idea of combining a stock pot with a pasta cooker/strainer as my old strainer was out of a counter fryer and also getting a steamer. There was a couple of similair items I looked at some lower in price and some higher but this was a really good price and I did not see this store selling sub par products.

Arrived today and they do not sell sub par. I don't know where the other reviewer's pot came from but there is no comparsion in what he/she described and I got. The steamer is a heavy one piece stamped stainless steel piece with very well rolled edges like they should be with no gaps and the handles are the same size and are fitted well. Also must add the...

Made in China
Just so you know, MIU France is made in CHINA and the quality of the product is what could be expected from the low quality control standards of China. The Pasta Strainer insert has a seam in the metal which is very obvious and will attract bad stuff which can't be cleaned, unless you use a dental tool or something to scrape out the groove/seam. Also, the Steamer insert handles are of different lengths, one rests against the upper rim of the insert (which is the correct location) while the other one drops down into the steamer, all the way to the bottom (into the food you're steaming). These are just the first two things that jumped out at me when I opened the product, I'm sure I could find many more quality issues if I had the time. Not at all the quality I expected for the price and the deceptive name of the manufacturer "MIU France". Don't waste your money on this low quality product.
I'll admit, I'm not the easiest customer to please but that is why I paid the high price of...

Le Creuset Whistling Tea Kettle 1.7 QT

I've had other Le Creuset tea kettles but like this one the best!
My daughter loaned me this tea kettle when she went overseas, so I had quite a bit of time to live with it for a while but then had to give it back. I received another model by Le Creuset as a gift but didn't like it nearly as well. The handle on this one is much more user friendly, and I don't know why but the water comes to a boil more quickly in this one verses the following kettle that I had: http://www.amazon.com/Le-Creuset-Enamel--Whistling-Teakettle/dp/B0012QE4HG/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1362052667&sr=8-13&keywords=le+creuset+kettle (it rusted on the inside after about 5 years so I replaced it with this one)
The handle on the other one was just way to stiff and hard to move out of the way. This one just feels like better quality than the one listed above.

I wish I could have gotten it in white like my daughter's but it was not available.

Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 6526.22 8.6 Inch Round Frying Pan

A great product
Beautiful, impeccable quality. A perfect size for a good fried steak (or anything) or a spanish omelette, which is what I use it for most of the time. If you live alone, this is your perfect frying pan for quick, single serving foods.

Heats evenly on medium heat
Sometimes I just have to cook on medium heat. When I do, I reach for a pan with a high copper content. I finally decided to turn the copper content all the way up to "11." So I bought a Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 8.6" Round Frying pan.

The Mauviel M'Heritage M150B 8.6" Round Frying pan works great for a little light duty cooking. These pans are a decent compromise in that they are copper pans that have a thin stainless steel liner. Stainless steel and copper have wildly different reactions to salts and acids, so you'll want to watch what you are doing. Just read the directions that come with the pans and it'll last forever.

Beautifully designed quality made set.
I didn't order this set from Amazon, but after using it for few weeks I felt compelled to leave a review. First, the set it beautifully designed - blue leaves and onions on white background nicely complement my decor in the kitchen. Second, and most important, that elegant and vibrant design does not compromise the quality of the set. It is lighter than most cookware, but sturdy and durable at the same time. The bottom of each piece is thick enough to allow for even heating. I have tried it both in oven for baking and on top of the stove. Nothing burned and cooked faster that I thought it would, since I was concerned that traditionally porcelain on steel is thought to prolong cooking time. Each piece comes with long handle that does not heat up, so you won't need your mittens. Overall, I highly recommend you try it, and look forward to the company's new products.

Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 3-Quart Saute Pan

Fantastic Pan!
I wanted to review this pan because I've noticed that there aren't many reviews on this line of Le Creuset. Of course, everyone who is interested in this line is most likely already familiar with Le Creuset's superior enameled cast iron line - those pots and pans are workhorses of your kitchen, and I believe everyone needs a solid dutch oven in their kitchen arsenal.

On to this saute pan - it's one of my favorites! I was having a hard time deciding between Le Creuset's line of stainless steel and All Clad's highly regarded line. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either. Having used both lines, I can honestly say that these two are solid competitors - and I can't find fault with either brand.

I think when choosing between Le Creuset stainless and All Clad, one has to consider the "feel" of the pot or pan. I know many are irritated with All Clad's handles, so comfort may be an issue - I preferred the Le Creuset line because of the "Easy pour"...

Le Creuset Heritage Stoneware 8" Square Dish, White

Beautiful addition to the buffet table
I have a few other Le Creuset stoneware dishes that I love. I ordered this one for Thanksgiving. It is a good size, baked well, and cleaned up easily in the dishwasher. I'll probably order another one before Easter.
