Not cast iron - can't see a seller's claim that it is/should be cast iron - but just be aware.
I bought this pot in the assumption that it would be a traditional, robust Sukiyaki pot made of cast iron. You know, the real deal... never assume anything. It isn't cast iron. It is *extremely* lightweight; I mean it is plastic light. It isn't plastic; I guess it's made of some really light cast aluminium, but I can't say that with certainty. What is certain, however, is that it isn't what I expected but I feel it's too much hassle to send it back. I'll find a use for it, I guess, but I really wished I hadn't bought it.
